I directed 20 National championship in 8 different country and two cat 1 Event and one cat 2 Event and the first Junior Pre-Worlds. I was deputy director on the last Europeans and four other cat 1 Events.
I was Jury on Worlds, Europeans and Gordon Bennett. Some more Events are here.

1st FAI Junior World Hot Air Balloon Championship will start in a bit more than two months

Competition rules version 2012 will be approved by CIA Plenary Meeting this week. Thereafter all updated sections of the rules will be published at the event website.

We had six flight on the 17th Europeans Hot Air Balloon Championship 2011 .in Lleida, Catalunya, Spain –  from September 15th to September 23rd 2011.

LuxGSM WORLD BALLOON TROPHY 2011

LuxGSM World Balloon Trophy powered by Shell Gas (LPG)The Echternach city will host from July 27th to 31st the new LuxGSM World Balloon Trophy powered by Shell Gas (LPG). 31 pilots from Switzerland , Belgium,Spain, Luxembourg , Denmark, France ,Germany, Czech Republic, Lithuania, UK and Netherlands are going to compete in the LuxGSM World Balloon Trophy .

The World Balloon Trophy powered by Shell Gas (LPG) is primarily an international competition of hot airballoons, organized since 1996 by the Cercle Luxembourgeois de l’asbl Ballooning (CLA). 30 to 40 world’s best pilots are given every year go to Luxembourg to compete in one of eight global events first class certified by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), and accounting for the world ranking. Since the World BalloonTrophy is traditionally held just before the continental or intercontinental championships, he became the event of reference preparation for the best pilots in the world, like in tennis for Wimbledon Queens.

BESNARD J.A from Switzerland - 1st WORLD’S BEST AIRSHIP PILOTSThe Commission Internationale d’Aérostation (CIA), part of FAI, has published the World Pilot Ranking List taking into account the results of the 2 world championships for hot air airships (Russia, France). Airship competitions determine the most performing pilots in a combination of speed races navigational perfection and precision flying. Organisers favours such events generally attracting crowds of 20000 to 30000 spectators.

The Ranking List is led by 4 time world champion J.-A.Besnard from Switzerland.
