First fly done
The forecast promised rain but we found rain free zone between two fronts and we can fly. Common launch from the city and Hesitation Waltz to two stadium.
13 pilots drop and 7 was in the target areas.

World Airship Ranking List (2010)
The Commission Internationale d’Aérostation (CIA), part of FAI, has published the World Pilot Ranking List taking into account the results of the 2 world championships for hot air airships (Russia, France). Airship competitions determine the most performing pilots in a combination of speed races navigational perfection and precision flying. Organisers favours such events generally attracting crowds of 20000 to 30000 spectators.
The Ranking List is led by 4 time world champion J.-A.Besnard from Switzerland.

Plane Crashes Into Power Lines
Durach, Germany. A German couple in a light aircraft manage to fly into a 380,000 volt power line and hanging 30 meters off the ground until 3 hours.
Pre-World Junior 2011
We are glad to inform you that during FAI annual meeting in Japan on 12th March 2011 FAI Junior hot air balloon category has been established. We are planning to organize 1st World Junior Hot Air Balloon Championship in Marijampole (Lithuania) in May 2012. This is why we are organizing Pre-World Junior Championship in Marijampole on 27th -29th May 2011. Pilots must be under TWENTYSIX years of age on the day of General Briefing.
Full title of the event is International Hot Air Balloon Competition Marijampole Cup 2011, 1st Open Lithuanian Junior Hot Air Balloon Championship, Pre-World Junior Hot Air Balloon Championship.We will use rules based on FAI AXMERG Category 1.
The organizers will provide for pilot + 3 crew:
- LPG
- Maps
- GPS loggers
- Accommodation
- Morning coffee + opening snacks party (Friday) + barbeque (Saturday) + farewell party (Sunday)
Official language – English.
Limited number of participants – 20 balloons.
PAYMENTS:
There is entry fee EUR 200 that must be paid by May 15th, 2011.
Returnable deposit of EUR 100 to be paid at the registration and will be returned after the last competition flight.
Please, fill in the entry form and return to us as soon as possible. The applications will be accepted on first come, first serve basis, but only after receipt of entry fee.
