Rules of 1st Junior World Hot Air Balloon Championship

Official rules were approved and published. Now you can find all three sections of the rules. The rules sections I and II published at our site earlier, were edited a bit. Important change related with Section II regarding co-pilot appeared in II.16, therefore co-pilots will not be asked for their sporting licence at check in.
Minor changes in II.3 and II.12 appeared.

The Czech National Balloon Championship 2012 will be in Radesín third time. The Event is open for all NAC but maximum 20 balloons.
FAI loggers and the AXMER 2012 rules will be used, the official language is English.

I directed 20 National championship in 8 different country and two cat 1 Event and one cat 2 Event and the first Junior Pre-Worlds. I was deputy director on the last Europeans and four other cat 1 Events.
I was Jury on Worlds, Europeans and Gordon Bennett. Some more Events are here.

Today we send you a link to ZIPed electronic map calibrated for OziExplorer and a link to map image if you use other mapping software. Each file is approx. 20 MB large.

Competition rules version 2012 will be approved by CIA Plenary Meeting this week. Thereafter all updated sections of the rules will be published at the event website.

Inspired by the bad news from New Zealand I’m sharing Risto Jalava’s 2002 memo about power line contacts. It MUST to read it for ALL balloonist what happens when a balloon hits a powerline!
